There is no such thing as talent

Some people think that talent is what defines ones abillity to be good at something; but talent does not exist, it’s actually a white substance called myelin, this chemical is generated when the brain is being used. the talent code a book writen by Danyel Coyle, explains this.

There is an electrical impulse generated in the brain, this impulse creates myelin and helps connect neurons with each other. Neurons are where the information for skills and a lot of other stuff is stored. You can imagine this proces like having a road conecting two neurons, and each time those neurons are being used, myelin is generated, making the road wider, and if the road gets wider more information gets through. The thing about starting to learn something early on in your life, is that the brain produces more myelin when we are younger. That is why it’s easier to learn early on, but myelin never stops being produced, it is only produced less and less as we get older; but if you learn anything under 40 years old you will still have a chance to be a pro, it will only be a bit more difficult.

Another interesting fact about the brain, is that if more neurons are conected it’s easier for the brain to work faster and better, because the information has more roads to go through, so if you have more knowledge and skills, the next thing you learn will be easier and faster to learn.

So technically talent is really practice
